Founder of Hero MotoCorp., India's biggest motorcycle maker, ceded title of chairman to son Pawan in June, though he remains chairman emeritus. The $4.1 billion (revenues) company has been hit by slowing sales and increasing competition, notably from former partner Honda Motor. It opened its first overseas factory in Colombia in September and will be launching 2 new scooter models. In February the family sold a small part of their HeroMotoCorp stake, raising $450 million that they reportedly plan to invest in new ventures.
Tiger Woods is Hero's global brand ambassador. The company is also the title sponsor of the 2015 Hockey World League.
