Media mogul is expanding his broadcasting empire with a slew of new channels being planned by TV flagship Zee Entertainment, including 5 lifestyle channels and a global English news channel along the lines of CNN. The company, run by son Punit, reaches 960 million viewers in 169 countries. Its digital unit has an alliance with Mashable to produce an Indian version of the digital media news site. Chandra's finance arm is planning to build a network of 50,000 ATMS across the country. Other interests include theme parks, packaging, mining and infrastructure.
Chandra has his own television show where he imparts business lessons to budding entrepreneurs.
