Second generation to run Pidilite Industries benefited from a 40% rise in its shares. The company reported higher profits despite slowdown partly due to lower raw-materials costs. Known for iconic brands Fevicol, M-seal and Dr. Fixit, Pidilite's diverse products include adhesives, art materials, waterproofing and construction chemicals. Father Balvant, who died in 2013, cofounded company in 1954 as a maker of specialty chemicals.
Fevicol's logo, depicting 2 elephants, was developed in the 1970s and hasn't changed since.
