The Five-hundred metre Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) is seen under construction among the mountains in Pingtang county, Guizhou province, China on November 26. The radio telescope, which will be the largest in the world, will be put to use by September 2016. When it is finished, it will be able to detect radio signals and potential signs of life from planets orbiting a million stars and solar systems
