In the evenings, group seniors gathered at Aguada beach where group patriarch Rama Prasad Goenka (extreme left) was joined by sons Harsh (centre) and Sanjiv (rank 91), and their wives Sushila, Mala and Preeti. “There was one rule: Everyone had to wear shorts,” says Harsh, who was 40 then. He likens this to the Rio carnival. The area around Fort Aguada was decorated with fishermen’s boats and their nets. The annual meetings are now held in Mumbai.
