Meet the new star & leader on Kerala's horizon

(1) Prejish Nirbhaya (Qn) – Mr Girish, you have gained a lot of attention for your activities recently. Can you tell us about your youth?

Girish Pillai (Ans) – Thank you for your kind introduction. I am a very normal man, I respect both criticisms and appreciation which is showered at me. I am only on a mission who cleaning up the field of Kerala so that everyone has a level playing field and justice is served to everyone. When I was in Gujarat, and heading Yuva Vahini too, our objective was social justice and harmony.

(2) (Qn) What are the major issues Kerala is facing and how do you tackle it ?

Ans - Kerala is a very educated state with high density of population. The lack of opportunities in Kerala is leading our youth to seek jobs abroad. We respect the global flavor of Malayali and Indians and we also feel that “better Pravasi and brighter Nivasi”.

And we have issues of corruption, smuggling, unemployability, land issues that need to tackled.

(3) (Qn) You are a very successful business man too, how do you introspect regarding your business ?

Ans -  I am still very much into business, but I have found my calling in social service. The well to do middle class and higher class should be ready to serve the people by devoting energy, money and time for better social upliftment.

(4) (Qn) How was your childhood and early part of life ?

Ans - I was born and brought up at Veraval in Gujarat.  Both my parents were in Gujarat as father was an employee in BIRLA group of companies.  Schooling was in Birla schools at Veraval in Gujarat, and also fondly remembers graduation in Commerce from Kerala University and MBA in Dubai.

(5) Qn - The recent tiff with Karan Adani and you were garnering a lot of attention? How do you see it?

Ans - September 26 is the day, court has instructed him to come and I will also be present. I don’t want to comment as it is subjudice. But I have no enmity with anyone, what I am fighting is for justice and fairness by corporations to all.

(6) (Qn) Tell us something about your family ?

Ans - I am the son of Sri KN Sivasankara Pillai and married to Priyanka. I have been blessed with Shivaay Pillai. My family has always been very supportive of all my initiatives. It is their inspiration and backing that helps me to venture out in socio cultural arenas.

(7) (Qn) Last but the most, how was your political career ? ( and all the best for your future initiatives)

 I was an active worker and member of Pravasi Nivasi Party.  I was elected as the State President of Pravasi Nivasi Party.

In 2020, I was nominated and elected as the Chairperson of State Democratic Front, a political mass movement by the allied parties and associations in Kerala. We believe in uniting parties on a common platform the welfare and prosperity of everyone.
