The year saw Tendulkar break a milestone: His 114 against Bangladesh was not his best hundred but it meant he had scored 100 international centuries. He had been "stranded" at 99 for over a year and when he hit the crucial runs, even the opposition players came over to shake his hand. On December 23, India's greatest cricketer retired from ODI cricket. The numbers speak for themselves: 18,426 ODI runs with 49 hundreds at an average of nearly 45 over 23 years. The year 2013 may well be his last year as an international cricketer.
